So short - So spectacular

On this page I'll include a list of all Jimmy's film, television, and stage appearances. I'll include pictures and comments on each of Dean's 3 films.

East of Eden (1955)

Elia Kazan's film adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel features James Dean in his first major film role as the emotional Cal. Dean's performance won critical praise and led to the casting of him in his next two films.

Giant (1956)

Starring with Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson, Dean plays Jet Rink who strikes big in oil. The most famous scene in this movie is when Rink is covered in oil and tries to get near Elizabeth Taylor's character but Hudson's character punches Rink.

Rebel Without a Cause (1955)

This is Dean's most famous role. He plays the rebellious teenager who finds it hard to belong in a new town. He meets and falls in love with Natalie Wood's character. Also appearing in this film is Dennis Hopper as one of Dean's rivals
